Perch Group, a debt purchasing business based in Blackpool are growing their finance function and are on the search for a Financial Controller on a full time or part time basis (20 to 25 hours a week if part time)

 

The existing finance team is made up of 4 members, a Finance Director that you will report into, and a reconcilliations manager, management accountant, and an assistant accountant, that you will assist mentoring alongside the Finance Director.

 

You will be responsible for:-

 

  • Preparation of Consolidated Perch Group Accounts and the reconciliation pack
  • Ownership of all balance sheet items and reconciliations
  • Deploy SLAs across Finance
  • Raising all financial transactions as appropriate, and maintaining payment controls
  • Processing monthly payroll for the Group and responding to any payroll queries
  • Production of VAT, PAYE and CT tax returns in a timely manner
  • Oversee all key control account reconciliations (cash, legal, funding etc)
  • Technical accounting policies (Group accounting policies, procedures etc)
  • Liaise with external auditors regarding the preparation of consolidated annual reports and accounts of the Group in compliance with UK accounting and charity legislation
  • Ad hoc reporting as required by the Senior Management Team
  • Lead, manage and develop the accounts and internal control teams.
  • Deputise for the Finance Director when necessary
  • Conduct 121s and appraisals with direct report
  • Monthly production of the management accounts for all entities in the Group
  • Cash control account reconciliation (we process c70k transactions a month)
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
  • Processing payroll each month
  • Completion of PAYE/VAT and other tax reporting
  • Managing the annual audit process
  • Deploy SLA’s across the finance department

What experience do you need, in order to be successful?

The successful candidate will need to be:-

 

  • Fully Qualified (Will accept QBE)
  • Proven Experience in statutory accounts and group consolidations.
  • Excellent Teamwork
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong interpersonally
  • Intermediate Excel skills

 

This role will pay up to £55,000 per annum plus benefits (dependant on experience) and hybrid working can be offered after 3 months in the business.
